Book projects
In 2025, I founded Amanara Creative out of a desire to get closer to craft and education to build something slow and tangible while connecting with a community. Teaching the art of bookbinding became as much a part of it as making the books themselves. The projects below are from my earlier work as a graphic designer.

The mysterious peacock
The Mysterious Peacock was a project to bring the Brazilian Cordel literary tradition to new generations, preserving its cultural roots while reframing it for a contemporary audience. We retained woodblock printing (xilogravura) as the book's illustrative method, honouring the visual language historically tied to Cordel literature in the Brazilian Northeast.
The project extended beyond the printed page: the book was accompanied by a limited toy art figure, packaged in a wooden box wrapped in artwork drawn directly from the book, making the object itself part of the storytelling experience.

13 souls
The publisher wanted to reposition 13 Souls in the market to reach a younger audience. The project focused on a full cover redesign, shifting the visual language toward something more contemporary, with bold typography and a vibrant colour palette that would feel relevant on a shelf competing for younger readers' attention.
